Right Reverend Martin Wharton
Bishop Martin Wharton has been Bishop of Newcastle and President of Norcare since 1998. He trained for the priesthood in Oxford and served in Birmingham, Croydon, Oxford and Bradford before being consecrated as Bishop of Kingston upon Thames in 1992. He is widely involved in the life of Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland and he chairs the Newcastle Council of Faiths and sits in the House of Lords.
