Kevin Rowan

Regional secretary of the Northern Trades Union Congress (TUC), Mr Rowan is an active member of a whole range of regional committees. He is chairman of Equality North East, an organisation that aims to promote and enable equal opportunities in all spheres of life. He also sits on the board for Newcastle Futures, an organisation that helps people back into employment, and he is a former council member for Northumberland Learning and Skills Council. He is also a former board member of the regional development agency where he was responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Regional Economic Strategy.
