North Tyneside Ex-Offenders Project
We provide support services to men and women aged 16 and over who have offended or are at risk of offending and live within the North Tyneside area. We also engage with other agencies including The Probation Service, drug and alcohol agencies and housing providers to ensure clients have a safe tenancy and can access the full support they need. Norcare works with all clients to obtain and maintain their tenancy and together with them we develop a support programme lasting between six and 24 months. This provides personalised support and advice and helps the client access education, health and wellbeing support, and counselling services. Referrals are received from The Probation Service as well as prison, drug and alcohol services.
North Tyneside Substance Misuse Project
We provide support services to men and women aged 16 and over who are at risk of losing their tenancy or unable to obtain a tenancy due to issues with substance misuse. We support 32 clients at any one time, and referrals are accepted from local authorities, Social services, The Probation Service and housing providers. Self referrals are also accepted. We also engage with other agencies including The Probation Service, drug and alcohol agencies and housing providers to ensure clients obtain and maintain their tenancies and can access the full package of support they need. Norcare works with all clients to develop a support programme lasting between six and 24 months - providing personalised support and advice and helping the client access education, health and wellbeing support, and counselling services. This scheme also offers a drop in service at Project Answer in Wallsend, Tuesday 12-4pm every week for free, informal advice with our housing support officers.
