Positive Outcomes

For some time it has been accepted within the supported housing sector that very little measurement has been done regarding the positive outcomes achieved by schemes such as those managed by Norcare. It has always been difficult to 'measure' the success or impact support work has on any of our service users' lives.

In an effort to make some progress towards addressing this, Norcare began some work to produce a tool which involves service users charting their own feelings about where they are in their lives, across a whole range of areas. This is then repeated at set intervals within a service users' time working with Norcare.

The result is a series of progress charts showing the development a service user has made over their time working with us, as identified by themselves. We have termed this the Quality of Life Questionnaire.

The Quality of Life Questionnaire is a real means of demonstrating, in easy to understand terms, the positive impact of our work on service users' lives.

We will be looking to introduce this across all of our services within the next few months.
