Cumberland House
Cumberland House offers temporary supported accommodation for women aged 16 and over who are homeless or have housing difficulties including those who have offended or are at risk of offending.
We have five flats with shared cooking and laundry facilities in a large building close to Newcastle city centre. This project has spaces for a total of 12 women. Referrals are mainly received through the Newcastle Gateway service run by Newcastle City Council. We work with all clients to develop a support programme lasting between six and 24 months - providing personalised support and advice and helping the client access education, health and wellbeing support, and counselling services.
Newcastle Substance Misuse Project
We provide support services for a total of 12 men and women aged 16 and over who have problematic substance dependency and live within the Newcastle area. We work with all clients to develop a support programme lasting between six and 24 months - providing personalised support and advice and helping the client access education, health and wellbeing support, and counselling services. Referrals are made by The Probation Service, local authorities, drug and alcohol teams and individual applicants.
