Princess visits Norcare Veterans’ Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne

Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal visited Brims House, Norcare Veterans’ Centre on the afternoon of Wednesday 14th September.

The Norcare Veterans’ Centre was excited to have been chosen as part of the Princess’s visit, and enjoyed the anticipation and excitement of the event.

The Norcare Veterans’ Centre was set up to help some of the hundreds of homeless ex-servicemen and women across the UK.  It offers help to a hidden army of veterans that have slipped through the support net, giving them the chance to return to independent living.

Norcare goes mobile

NORCARE can now receive public donations by text message.

The charity which supports homeless and vulnerable people has signed up to the scheme which allows the public to donate up to £10 at any one time.

The initiative has been set up by JustGiving and Vodafone and allows donations to be made free of charge with no commission.

Norcare named one of UK's best companies

Norcare bas been ranked one of the UK's top companies.

Norcare has been named in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list.

Norcare employs around 80 people in projects across the North East. The organisation helps support and find homes for those who are socially and economically excluded.

Norcare was ranked 27th in the top 100 public sector and charity sector organisations to work for.

Centre to help “homeless war veterans” opens for Remembrance Sunday

A NEW centre to help some of the hundreds of homeless war veterans across the UK was opened today in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The centre will be the first of its kind north of London and will help veterans who are homeless and suffering with mental health issues, alcohol and drug problems and family breakdown.

The Norcare Veterans’ Centre has been set up by housing support charity Norcare to help the growing population of ex-servicemen and women that struggle to adjust to life when they leave the Forces.

The centre was officially opened by The Lord Mayor of Newcastle with special guest Thomas Sivell, a 104-year old veteran who has served in the Far East as well as in the Second World War.
