Volunteers

As a volunteer, you can complement and enhance the work of housing support officers.  Norcare's Volunteer Scheme provides extremely varied support to service users through roles such as befriending, mentoring, and practical support with life skills development.  To prepare you for these tasks you would receive two days of initial induction training, Pro-Social Modelling training, and "on the job" training when shadowing housing support officers.  
 You can gain valuable experience and transferable skills as a volunteer, as well as making a really positive difference to the lives of our service users.  We do not require you to have prior experience of working with our client groups, however you must be possess these qualities:

· non-judgemental and respectful

· patient, caring and committed

· able to motivate

· reliable

· good communication skills - especially the ability to listen
