Client Page

At Norcare we believe in putting our clients at the heart of everything we do.

We do all we can to support them and help them develop the skills to live happy independent lives. We know that by offering clients the opportunity to get involved in different groups and activities at Norcare, they can meet new people, grow in confidence, develop new skills and have fun!

We understand that the best people to tell us how to improve are those who use our services which is why we need our clients to tell us what works for them and what doesn't to help shape strategies, services and policies.

Here are just some of the ways that clients can get involved at Norcare:

  • ·         Client involvement strategy group – this group helps shape the future of Norcare and will discuss Norcare’s strategy in moving forwards

  • ·         Staff recruitment – clients can help us in everything from deciding on interview questions to sitting on the interview panel

  • ·         Client forum – this group meets on a regular basis to discuss client issues, funding ideas or suggestions

  • ·         Training and Norcare traineeships – as well as taking part in any of the Norcare training courses, we can direct clients to courses outside of Norcare. They might also be interested in the Norcare traineeship (the ACE programme). This scheme will train clients to become housing and support officers. It is fully paid and lasts a year. There are limited places and clients will be interviewed for a position but we can support them through this process.

  • ·         Client newsletter – clients may want to help write, design or produce our client newsletter giving information on client activities and events.

In addition, Norcare has a client learning officer and an employability officer who work together to ensure the right learning and training opportunities are available to clients to help them into employment. Clients can join confidence courses, one-to-one sessions to develop CVs, and interview training.

Our health and wellbeing team offers sessions on healthy cooking, art therapy, acupuncture and help with quitting smoling. They also have a gardening project which clients can join to grow their own fruit and vegetables.

Clients can also join group visits to places of interest, take part in leisure activities like bowling and enjoy dedicated client activity days.

If you are concerned about spiralling debts and are looking for bankruptcy advice, you can get free, impartial debt help from UK charity CCCS. They offer confidential debt counselling, information and support via their free CCCS Debt Remedy online service, accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
